CD copies of my music...

I was just notified that Amazon and CD Baby are sold out of my album/CD.  CD Baby is no longer distributing CDs, ironically. I have a few copies left for purchase (see link on my page). IT IS STILL STREAMING ON SPOTIFY, PANDORA, APPLE, AMAZON, and many more platforms. Thanks you!! Pete

Happy birthday, Bob

Well it's here, and in America I'd say in some ways it's as big as the Fourth of July. It's Bob Dylan's birthday and if there isn't an American icon as big, and as important as Bob Dylan (OK maybe the Statue of Liberty), then I don't know what is. I arrived at Bob Dylan through the circuitous route of a trip down the Beatles-In-Wonderland rabbit hole. Then as I grew up, I got smart enough and sophisticated enough to really understand what they and everybody else already understood. So here I am on my third reading of his book Chronicles (which I highly recommend) and find myself loving the man and his music even more. So happy birthday, Bob, if I can call you, Bob, like we're close personal friends. Anyway, just glad we're sharing the planet at the same time and if that ain't friendship, I don't know what is. Stay healthy, happy and hopeful, Pete

New music and stuff!

Hi Folks - i'm staying busy down here at the pond. Hope you're doing well. I have been uploading a lot of new music, because as you probably already know, I write and record stuff as fast as I can. So I hope you like it. I'm streaming on all the major platforms as well so you can enjoy it there too. Anyway, I'm going to be dropping my social media accounts in the near future so be sure to stay in touch and connected right here on my website. Thanks again for your support. Stay happy, healthy, and hopeful. Pete.

Staying busy as a beaver...

Well, just as the title says, I'm busy as a beaver down here at the pond, and we've got a quite few of them. I'm working steadily at my Big Hope Studio writing and recording.  The weather is getting really beautiful, too, so I'm doing a bunch of things in the yard to get ready for summer.  Also, I've started on a new book of poetry (I think I mentioned that before.  My mind is like a screendoor lately).

Anyway, I have a bunch of new songs up on my website.  Here's the link. https://petesilvamusic.com/music.  I just released one called “I'm A Quiet Man.”  I really like it, and I know you will too,  but it's a little trickier than it sounds. Give it a listen.  Folks on social media tend to click the like button and comment and make believe they listened or watched stuff.  Don't be like them.  They're no fun at parties.

It's a song that has a lot of different angles, and not all are about me.  I try not to be too autobiographical.  If I were, I'd be singing about my love for lasagna and Beverly Hillbillies re-runs, and who wants to hear about that.  Working on another one now called “You Gotta Go Down.”

So stay in touch on my website, because I'm putting out a new song about every three weeks or so, and I hate to keep bugging you with blogs and emails, and social media isn't so social these days.  That's no fun either.  So, click on the music tab on my website, or go to your favorite streaming platform.  Until we meet again in the virtual world, stay happy, healthy, and hopeful. Pete

It's a rainy Sunday here at the pond...

Well, hope you're doing well.  I've released a new song called “The Windows Of My Room,” and I'm pretty proud of it.  You can download it or stream it everywhere.  I'd appreciate it.  And I'm just about wrapped up recording another one called “I'm A Quiet Man,” which believe it or not is a bit autobiographical.  I was going to call it “I'm A Shy Man,” but it didn't sound as nice when you sing it.  Plus, I get the “Wait! You? Shy?” stuff far too often at fancy dinner parties and soirees that I frequently get invited to.  Turns out, for a quiet man like me, I have a lot to say.  I just keep it confined to songs and poetry.  Anyway, thank you for your support.  Stay healthy, happy, and hopeful.  Pete

oh yeah, p.s.   I'm working on a new poetry book, too.  Staying busy like the beavers here at the pond.

Just knocking on the screen door to check in.

It's a lovely day here at the pond.  I'm awfully grateful, because you know, if you have your health… Anyway, I just released a new song called “The Windows Of My Room,” and it's pretty good if I may say so myself.  I played all the instruments on it, and I'm proud of that.  It's kind of a melancholy little thing, but be careful to avoid the nostalgia trap.  The lyrics are trickier than you think.  I hope you like it.  It's the beginning of a new musical direction for me.  Started working on another book of poetry too.  Yes, I'm grateful.  As the soap opera announcer says, "“Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.”  Words of wisdom, there.  Stay happy, healthy, and hopeful.  Pete
