Lyrics

The Way It Always Ends

She wakes before the sun
Hair falls loose around her face
The coffee starts to grind, just like her day
Rushing her routine
To get to work on time
Disappointments flash on every line

Sometimes the truth is make believe
And denial is the opposite it seems
And so it begins, the way it always ends

There was a time nothing scared her
Once the lights went out
Love isn’t measured in degrees
But now things are different
Only she knows what about
And she’s learned darkness has no guarantees

Sometimes the truth is make believe
And denial is the opposite it seems
And so it begins, the way it always ends

She locks the doors at five
Feeling hypnotized
That seems to be the way it always ends
